GENERAL DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY
The primary duty of this role is to generate sales for the company’s products to customers in the State of Kentucky https://www.mtechcompany.com/products . This position requires independent management of customers and prospects in order to create sales opportunities primarily via live visitation to the customer’s places of business. On-site sales activities will be supplemented with phone calls and emails; however, key responsibilities will require routine on-site sales activities, product presentation and product demonstrations.

LOCATION: HANDLES THE SELLING TERRITORY OF THE STATE OF KENTUCKY (IDEALLY LIVES IN THE LOUISVILLE OR LEXINGTON AREAS, BUT NORTHERN KENTUCKY AND OTHERWISE CAN WORK)

Key Job Roles and Routines:
- High level of use of company’s Sales Force CRM system. Prompt engagement with customers. High level of attention and responsiveness to customers.
- Deep knowledge of company’s products and familiar with company vendors, their processes, pricing, etc.
- Deep research on assigned territory/understanding of competitive products
- Routine on-site cold call is a key tactic
- High interaction with company sales management/continual updating on key opportunities
- Stay extremely close to customer and become a trusted advocate
- Work actively with company’s service department and company vendors to help resolve customer issues—both are key resources with providing service and knowledge to customers and prospects.
- Knowledgeable on bid specifications, RFP processes, cooperative purchasing contracts and highly engaged with the technicalities of navigating these avenues.
- Orchestrates truck/product demos and collaborates with company service department to ensure vehicle readiness and ultimately an impressive demo for the customer. Have a basic understanding of how to operate all equipment.
- Ensures thorough product delivery requirements are met after sale to ensure customer understands effective and safe use of the equipment.
- Works with company office to ensure appropriate transfer of vehicle ownership to customer (title paperwork processing).
- Assist from time to time with troubleshooting and technical support.
- Participate with beneficial trade shows and events and be an active part of the team ensuring the efficient execution of all activities at such events.
- Participate actively within industry associations and where possible attain leader roles with related organizations to bring high visibility to you and to the company.

Qualifications:
- Applicant preferably meets one or both of the following criteria:
o Three or more years of proven successful outside sales experience.
o Three or more years of prior experience with the industries in which the company operates.
- Bachelor’s, Associate’s, or trade-school degree preferred.
- Negotiation skills.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Sales Force CRM software experience is a plus.
- Truck/Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
- Live near Louisville, Lexington or Northern Kentucky is a plus
- Must have or be willing to obtain within first six months of employment, a Class B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements (company will assist with training).
- Have a clean driving record and must be considered insurable by the company insurance company.
- Able to pass a criminal background check.
- Be drug free and submit to random drug screenings through the CDL program.
- Able to drive in cars and trucks for extended periods of time.
- Able to travel routinely including overnight stays on average of eight nights per month.
- Ability to work nights and weekends in excess of 40 hours/week.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time at shows, demos, etc.
- Sound vision and the ability to view reports and computer screens.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds for various field activities.
