A successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Drafting/AutoCAD and Revit expertise
- Ability to clean up architectural backgrounds and produce drawing packages in accordance with MTech CAD standards
- CAD drafting for HVAC and plumbing systems in accordance with MTech CAD standards
- Accurate evaluation of structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical coordination
- Pipe sizing knowledge for HW, CHW and process piping systems
- Plumbing sizing knowledge for domestic water, waste/vent, storm drainage, and gas piping systems
- Duct sizing knowledge for low pressure, medium pressure supply/exhaust systems
- Knowledge of SMACNA duct construction standards
- IBC, IMC, IPC, IFGC, IFC code knowledge/awareness
- Catalog equipment sizing capability
- Existing system evaluation/accurate field observation abilities including as-built drawings
- Effective participation with the MTech team to satisfy the client’s needs. Works well with others.
- Efficient time management with CAD deliverables
- Communicate effectively with internal and external clients
- Understand and establish positive and functional job relationships
- Regular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet the requirements of this position
- Other duties as assigned
Qualified candidates will possess the following education and experience:
- Ability to perform engineering calculations related to pipe and duct flow losses. Experience in equipment/systems applications. Working knowledge of electrical, architectural, structural and fire protection drawings required. Ability to operate CAD preferred.
- Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology required. B.S. in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Coursework in fluid dynamics, thermo-dynamics and heat transfer required. CAD coursework preferred. 5-8 years experience in HVAC/plumbing environment required.
