POSITION OVERVIEW
The IT Support Specialist position will be part of a tightly knit IT team and will be looked upon as a subject matter expert in supporting and deploying user facing systems and services, striving to constantly learn and thoughtfully troubleshoot problems before escalating. The candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills with a focus on providing positive user experiences and interactions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Support client-based applications, problem-solve and provide technical expertise within a Microsoft environment.
- Closely monitor the IT ticketing system - creating, responding to & resolving support tickets and following up with staff as needed, all with a sense of urgency.
- Coordinate with HR and managers to both on and offboard users in a timely manner.
- Create and administer user accounts within MTI's various systems.
- Image, configure and deploy PC hardware to staff.
- Interact and coordinate with vendors, service providers and consultants as needed.
- Provide maintenance and support for printers, scanners and various other peripherals utilized within a manufacturing environment.
- Maintain device images, system configurations, hardware and software.
- Troubleshoot various types of hardware issues with laptops and desktops.
- Administer mobile devices, such as Apple iOS and Android devices.
- Document technical procedures and create detailed work instructions for staff.
- Follow and enforce all IT dept. policies and procedures.
- Support users within an RDS environment.
- Follow and enforce all IT dept. policies and procedures.
- Maintain the PC hardware inventory.
- 1 - 2 years of experience in providing both hands-on and remote assisted technical support.
- Working knowledge of the following: Windows 10/11, Office (M) 365, Azure/Entra, Active Directory, help desk ticketing systems, endpoint protection solutions, phones.
- Experience within a ‘least privilege access' environment.
- IT certification(s) are a plus. (CompTIA, Microsoft OS, Azure, etc.)
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Skills to help prioritize and organize assigned work.
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to create technical documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with staff at all locations.
- Proactive in finding potential issues before they become help desk or infrastructure problem.
- Participate in a ‘month end' after hours support rotation.
