MTNA Anderson Plant is looking for a Maintenance manager. The ideal candidate will have oversight of maintenance repair, and optimization of mold injection, assembly, paint, and building systems. They will also oversee automation technologies including, but not limited to ensuring the efficiency of robotic application systems, managing teams, and working on troubleshooting and improvements related to the automated processes.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for the maintenance of injection molding machines, paint systems, facilities systems, and related equipment.
- Leading a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and automation specialists.
- Scheduling and conducting routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of various machines to ensure minimal downtime.
- Managing mold and tool repairs and replacements
- Ensuring that the facility's infrastructure, equipment, and tools are properly maintained, functional, and compliant with regulations.
- Managing building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and equipment maintenance.
- Keeping detailed records of machine performance and maintenance downtime history.
- Research, negotiate, and manage contracts with external vendors to provide cost effective resources.
- Manage associate performance reviews.
- Plan and manage department budget.
- Prepare and update reports for management level meetings.
- Assist in interviews and disciplinary investigations
- Implementing and overseeing automation systems in the injection molding process
- Ensure systems are integrated smoothly with molding machines to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Managing automated paint application systems, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning to deliver optimal results.
- Troubleshooting and maintaining automation equipment like robotic arms, conveyor belts, and control systems.
- Identifying areas for automation improvement to reduce labor costs and enhance production quality.
- Managing a team of technicians and engineers to maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues.
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operations
- Training staff on recent technologies, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Works closely with engineers and technicians to implement recent technologies or improve current systems for enhanced performance.
- Identifying opportunities for process optimization, including cycle time reduction, energy savings, and quality improvements.
- Ensuring all maintenance and automation work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure staff is equipped and utilizes proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- A technical degree or certification, or a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a similar position, preferably in an automotive/manufacturing facility.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in manufacturing, facilities maintenance, and industrial maintenance including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical maintenance systems.
- Strong understanding of injection molding machinery, robotics, paint automation systems, robotics, and industrial controls.
- Ability to program and modify Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
- Ability to work with 3-phase electrical systems.
- Ability to work with complex mechanical systems.
- Ability to mig weld
- Understanding of advanced spreadsheet tools, word processing, and manufacturing-control software applications
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve issues in both machinery and automation systems.
- Ability to plan and execute maintenance schedules and automation upgrades or installations.
- Experience managing a team and effectively communicating across departments.
