The Receiving Dock Associate will be responsible for unloading, inspecting, verifying, and storing incoming shipments to ensure a steady flow of quality materials to production. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stock and scan components from incoming shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment.
- Inspect incoming materials, parts, and supplies to ensure they meet quality standards and purchase order specifications.
- Verify quantities, part numbers, and condition of received goods against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Label and store received items in designated storage locations, ensuring materials are properly identified and organized.
- Communicate any discrepancies, damaged goods, or missing items to the appropriate department for resolution.
- Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices to ensure that older materials are used before newer ones.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and audits to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving dock, storage areas, and warehouse.
- Adhere to safety protocols and OSHA guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Operate and maintain material-handling equipment, ensuring all safety checks and maintenance tasks are performed.
- Assist in other areas of the logistics department when needed.
- 1 years of experience in receiving, shipping, warehousing, or a related role, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management systems, ERP software, and warehouse operations.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic math and data entry skills to record and verify shipment information.
- Ability to read and interpret packing slips, bills of lading, and purchase orders.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with other departments and report discrepancies effectively.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
- Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and various materials.
- Requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
