Job Overview: We are seeking a Shipping Technician to support automotive manufacturing operations by ensuring the accurate and timely shipment of finished products and components. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing shipments, verifying documentation, and coordinating with logistics teams to meet customer delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and package finished goods, parts, and components for shipment according to customer and company specifications.
- Verify shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and invoices, ensuring accuracy before shipment.
- Communicate with customers.
- Coordinate associate training, daily activity, and first in first out (FIFO)
- Inspect outgoing shipments for quality, accuracy, and compliance with customer requirements.
- Update and maintain shipping records in inventory management systems.
- Investigate all packaging downtime.
- Verify warehouse finished goods storage is organized.
- Adhere to safety protocols, company policies, and OSHA guidelines while performing all tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations (automotive manufacturing experience preferred).
- Knowledge of shipping procedures, freight logistics, and documentation requirements.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems, inventory software, and shipping platforms.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping instructions, work orders, and packing lists.
- Forklift experience or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate shipment processing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to lift up to50lbs, stand for extended periods, and handle repetitive tasks.
- Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and various materials.
- Requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Full-time, with potential for overtime based on production needs.
