Job Overview: We are seeking a Quality Technician to join our team and ensure that all automotive parts and assemblies meet the highest quality standards. The Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and analyzing products and processes to identify defects, ensure compliance with specifications, and maintain production quality. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with production and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of automotive components and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
- Perform dimensional checks, visual inspections, and functional tests using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Monitor production processes to identify potential defects and recommend corrective actions to prevent quality issues.
- Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action (CA) processes to address non-conformances and implement effective solutions.
- Document and maintain detailed inspection records, quality reports, and test data in accordance with company procedures.
- Support first piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with control plans and quality guidelines.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and work instructions.
- Manage Change Point Control System, monitor and maintain hold area, and sort and contain product as needed.
- Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall product quality and process efficiency.
- Provide training and guidance to production operators on quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Ensure compliance with ISO-14001, IATF 16949, and other applicable quality standards.
- 2 years of experience in quality inspection, quality control, or a related role in automotive manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards, control plans, and inspection techniques.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
- Familiarity with ISO-14001, IATF 16949, and other automotive quality standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with quality management software (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50lbs, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and various materials.
- Requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
