Position Summary:
This position performs frequent rigorous tasks such as mounting, cleaning, washing, and inspection of components under a microscope. These processes require knowledge of the use of various equipment such as bake ovens, ultrasonic cleaners, as well as various tools such as microscopes, hand brushes and hand tools. The assembler will also load and operate various automated equipment and perform a variety of tasks in conjunction with component assembly.

Job Duties And Responsibilities:
Production Assembler I:
- Able to read and follow procedures exactly as written.
- Continues to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (2D0-1004) including STEP-C
- Performs a variety of manual tasks such as: mount and cure components, performs inspections under microscope to ensure quality standards are met, hand cleaning of components, etc.
- Load, Run and Monitor automated equipment as needed.
- Maintains safe and clean working areas.
- All functions of Production Assembler I.
- Able to be self-sufficient in main work area.
- Assists in preparing and lining up work for Crystal Assembler I personnel.
- Works with process engineering to suggest changes in process or product to improve throughout, yield, etc.
- Periodically checks with other peers or lines lead to support other functions as needed in the finish product line.
- All functions of Production Assembler II.
- Makes suggestions for procedure changes to ensure procedures remain up to date and correct.
- Confers with the process engineers, supervisor, and other technical workers to assist with equipment installation, maintenance, experiments, and repair techniques when needed.
- Is well cross trained within their main department but can also work in other departments within the crystal line.
- Is recognized as the resident expert in the main area that they work in.
- Mentors’ employees.
- Trains employees.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Production Assembler I:
- Hand coordination and dexterity
- Knowledge of components, specifications, SOPs, and testing processes
- Ability to work cohesively with peers and supervisors.
- Be able to use a microscope for long periods of time.
- Accountable for addressing any issues in their cell areas to the supervisor.
- Understanding of basic tools or testing equipment
- All skills from Production Assembler I
- Ability to switch between areas daily as needed.
- All skills from Production Assembler II
- Ability to be easily cross trained in various locations.
- Exceptional communication skills with peers, supervisors, and engineering teams
- Complete Mastery of procedures and processes in at least a single process area (i.e. crystal etch, MRW etch, baseplate, etc.)
Production Assembler I:
- Little or no prior relevant experience required.
- Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license.
- Two years of operator level experience required.
- Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license.
- 5 years of advanced experience required.
- Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license.
- Some light lifting required.
- Sitting for long periods
- Squatting or bending
- Walking around the cell or production floor
- Must have the ability to obtain security clearance.
