Primary Objective:
To perform design, development, and support work on new and existing MTS products in such a way to enhance or maintain their value, profitability and/or importance to the company.

The compensation for this position ranges from to $69,000-$119,000 based on relevant education and experience.

Major Areas Of Accountability
- Apply engineering principles and analysis tools to perform detailed design of components and testing systems.
- Proficiently execute drafting & design work to document manufacturing and test instructions.
- Provide quote support to the sales team for new opportunities.
- Gather and review design requirements pertaining to the overall system.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines to create a fully aligned system solution.
- Monitor and engage with system assembly and checkout operations.
- Assist in problem resolution and actively document and lead detailed continuous improvement opportunities.
- Other accountabilities/duties as assigned.
- Provide a high degree of technical leadership on sales support and project development, including scope definition, machine/fixture design, and culminating in build, test, and commissioning support. Example responsibilities include mechanical design configuration, application performance calculations, mechanical safety system design, and support of overall system commissioning, including checkout and installation support.
- Be responsible for accurate estimation of engineering cost and schedule budgeting for a given task that often involves multiple team members, demonstrating the ability to lead with attention to detail and follow-through.
- 0-3 years of relevant experience
- US Citizenship required
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proficient with SolidWorks, Pro E or similar CAD systems. (i.e. ePLAN, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Knowledge of machine design, schematics, structural mechanics, vibrations, and materials science.
- Knowledge in the application of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), vibration analysis and simulation tools (ANSYS, MATLAB, MathCAD, Simulink)
- Expected travel averaging less than 10%, domestic and international.
