Job Summary:
The Aviation Engine Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the aviation engine maintenance team. This role ensures that all engine maintenance activities are conducted efficiently, safely, and in compliance with aviation regulations and company standards. The supervisor will manage a team of technicians, coordinate with other departments, and maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities.
Responsibilities:
· Lead and supervise a team of aviation engine technicians, ensuring all tools and parts are available.
· Monitor and evaluate the performance of team members, providing feedback and training as necessary.
· Oversee all aspects of engine maintenance, including inspections, repairs, overhauls, and modifications.
· Ensure maintenance activities are carried out according to manufacturer specifications, company policies, and aviation regulations.
· Provide technical guidance to the team.
· Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment including executing workstation audits.
· Ensure all maintenance activities comply with FAA regulations, EASA standards, and other relevant aviation authorities.
· Coordinate with other departments, including logistics and engineering, to ensure efficient workflow.
· Communicate effectively with upper management, providing updates on maintenance activities and any issues that arise.
· Liaise with suppliers and external service providers as requested from Operations Management.
· Participate in training programs and professional development activities.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Maintenance, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, preferred.
· A&P License or a P License, preferred.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in aviation engine maintenance.
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in large commercial engine on-wing maintenance with progressive advancement; internal candidates must have at least 1 year experience with MTU Maintenance Dallas in current position.
· Previous supervisory or leadership experience in an aviation maintenance environment.
· Familiarity with work scopes including borescope inspections, compressor top & bottom case repairs, module removal and installation, engine change & QEC, AD and SB modifications, hot section replacements, configuration change, fan blade replacement, lease return and pre-buy inspections.
· Military Experience is acceptable if the experience is from an engine shop background.
