JOB SUMMARY
ARNP who works independently and in collaboration with other physicians in the clinic in a family practice environment and Home visits with an emphasis on chronic disease management and Geriatrics.
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION
Required:
- Graduation from accredited program for either a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice(DNP)
- Washington state license as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (family nurse practitioner), Certification as FNP by ANCC, AANP or equivalent.
- Three to five (3-5) years’ experience in primary care or family medicine and at least 1-2 years of geriatric experience required.
- Current CPR and BLS certifications
- Valid Washington State driver’s license.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a tribal health care environment preferred.

- Patient assessment skills, including the ability to observe and collect subjective data, make proper assessments, and develop treatment plans.
- Patient teaching skills using appropriate adult/child-learning models.
- Effective verbal and written communication with patients and staff.
- Time management and organizational skills for task prioritization and delegation.
- Problem-solving and decision-making, encompassing fact-finding, research, prioritization, plan development, and evaluation of effectiveness.
- Resourcefulness and the ability to enlist support when needed.
- Strong written communication and documentation skills, including legibility, accuracy, and thoroughness in charting, note-taking, and requisitions.
- Teamwork skills, demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other providers, medical support staff, and front office staff in a professional manner.
Ability:
- Ability to evaluate and treat patients with various diagnoses and medications.
- Demonstrated expertise in treating childhood illnesses in pediatrics, including asthma, URI, otitis, etc.
- Conducting comprehensive well child exams, well women’s exams, and Medicare wellness exams.
- Patient teaching skills, including instructing patients using appropriate adult/child-learning models.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks concurrently and delegate as needed.
- Problem-solving and decision-making, including fact-finding, research, prioritization, plan development, and effectiveness evaluation.
- Resourcefulness and the ability to enlist support when required.
- Competency in using electronic health record systems efficiently.
- Clinical skills for hands-on evaluation and treatment of symptoms and disease processes in a family practice environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication with patients, staff, and the ability to adhere to HIPAA and other health information regulations.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension (HTN), cardiovascular disease (CVD), and asthma.
- Understanding of vaccines, immunizations, and physical requirements.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and other laws/regulations related to protected health information.
- Competence in all areas of medical practice, with a strong assessment ability to observe and obtain subjective data, make proper assessments, and develop treatment plans.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed mostly in a clinic setting. Continuously uses vision and listens. Frequently sits, stands, and/or talks. Requires manual dexterity for computer work and routine paperwork. Occasionally walks, climbs stairs, bends at the waist, drives, and/or reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally lifts and/or carries up to 50 lbs. Occasionally pushes or pulls up to 250 lbs. May occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts and/or biohazardous waste materials.
