What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Route Driver position at Mud Bay?
Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Route Delivery Driver is responsible for safe, professional, and gracious delivery of all products to our Mud Bay Stores. The Route Delivery Driver will know all delivery areas, routes, and traffic conditions to ensure on-time, successful deliveries. The Route Delivery Driver will help support the Distribution Center (DC) in all activities related to inbound and outbound freight, product quality control, and inventory management all within Company and Distribution Center guidelines, as needed.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Able to safely operate delivery vehicles, up to and including Class A Truck and 53’ Trailer combo. CDL required.
- Safely operate an electric pallet jack and rail gate power liftgate to make deliveries along public roads and in parking lots.
- Perform pre-checks and post-checks on all equipment used for store deliveries, to ensure it is in good working order.
- Able to keep track of Hours of Service (HOS) and maintain Electronic Logs according to FMCSA requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of Mud Bay product to and from our stores and DC.
- Keeps the delivery equipment clean and free of clutter.
- Performs regular cleaning of the Mud Bay equipment.
- Assist in loading and unloading delivery vehicle at the DC, before and after the route.
- Performs activities as needed to support inbound & outbound inventory to meet objectives for service level, operational accuracy, and optimal efficiency.
- Consistently and continually looks for process and system improvements and collaborates with the Supply Chain Operations Manager and the Warehouse Manager to develop and implement tools and process changes for improved efficiency and accuracy.

Primary Qualifications:
- 21 years of age or older.
- Possess a valid WA or OR Driver’s license.
- Possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Have a clean driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving.
- Previous delivery driving experience and electric pallet jack experience is preferred.
- General mechanical knowledge to safely perform pre and post checks on all Mud Bay delivery equipment.
- Understands and able to abide by all traffic laws in Washington and Oregon.
- Ability to safely navigate traffic and follow route instructions either by paper or electronic routing software.
- Ability to have a flexible schedule and make deliveries during the day, overnight or multi-day routes, as needed.
