What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boatman position at Muddy Water Dredging LP?
Operate dredging equipment such as cutter suction dredges, hopper dredges, etc. to remove sediments and debris from waterways.
- Maneuver dredges into position and monitors dredging operations.
- Operate towing vessels to position dredges, barges, and other marine equipment.
- Transport crew and supplies between the dredge and shore using crew boats.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vessels and dredging equipment as needed.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, policies, and regulations related to dredging operations.
- Maintain logs and reports detailing operations, maintenance activities, and issues encountered.
- Assist with loading/unloading of dredged materials onto barges or shoreside facilities.
- Perform other deck duties as assigned by supervisors.
