Barista + Host

As a Barista Host, you will be the first point of contact for MudPenny guests, providing exceptional service both behind the bar and in the dining area. This role combines the art of crafting delicious beverages with the hospitality of welcoming and assisting guests. You’ll be an essential part of creating a warm, welcoming environment that aligns with our core values. You are the face of our brand, embodying the essence of service, dedication, and community.

Expected shift schedule: Thursday-Sunday. Must be available Sundays to be considered. Thank you!

Barista Duties:

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages (espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, etc.), ensuring each drink is made to our established standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following all food safety and hygiene guidelines.
• Engage with customers to personalize their experience, offering product recommendations based on preferences.
• Manage inventory and restock supplies as necessary, always staying ahead of demand.
• Stay up to date with the latest coffee trends and techniques, continuously improving your craft.

Host Duties:

• Greet and welcome customers with a friendly, neighborly attitude, ensuring they feel valued from the moment they walk in.
• Assist with seating arrangements, manage waitlists, and keep customers informed on estimated wait times.
• Handle customer inquiries, addressing any concerns or issues with a solution-driven mindset.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth service flow, making sure every guest has a memorable experience.
• Ensure the space is inviting, clean, and well-maintained, ready to host our customers.

• Prior experience as a barista or in customer service is a plus, but not required. We’ll train you on everything you need to know!

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $11.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
