Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Performs inspection and/or testing activities for all incoming products and raw materials, products manufactured at Mueller and products received to ensure compliance to product specifications.

Inspection/Testing

  • Inspect and/or test all incoming products to ensure products are within specifications prior to releasing to the plant.
  • QC release testing of all cold pack products, Whizzer, first aid and trainers kits and MWrap products manufactured at MSM.
  • Primary inspector for the inspection of tapes.
  • Test samples of new braces or new vendor products for sizing and product specifications.
  • Demonstrate accurate documentation of testing results to support testing process.
  • Troubleshoot quality issues and present solutions to Quality, Purchasing and Research & Engineering (R&E) departments.
  • Review and release of DHR & MBR form Manufacturing.
  • Prepares and attaches material quality status labeling.
  • Ensures storage and handling of product in a controlled and secure manner.
  • Participates in complaint investigations related to product quality issues (Tapes & Braces).

Administration

  • Develops, implements and maintains QA procedures, standards and controls (e.g., Master Samples).
  • Maintains calibrated equipment used in testing tape and work with R&E associates in developing and qualifying new tape testing methods for inspection.

Qualifications


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  •  

High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the position functions of the job.

  •  

Two or more years of quality, regulatory, manufacturing, or other related experience.

  •  

Ability to understand and comply with Mueller Safety Systems and current regulatory requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  •  

Associate or bachelors degree in quality, engineering or other science related area.

  •  

Demonstrated experience with SAP or an enterprise resource program (ERP) software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills; ability to stand or sit, bend or stoop, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light weights of up to 30 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate office equipment and read. The team member frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Position requires frequent typing.
