Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs duties to assist in the installation maintenance and repair functions on hospital equipment, grounds, and facilities, and any other duties which may be required or assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Personal Job-Related Skills: Ability to read and write.
• Licensure, Registry or Certification: None required.

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Entry level position

TECHNICAL TRAINING:

• None required

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Duties of this position require:

• Extended periods of walking or standing.
• Bending, stooping, reaching and crawling required in performing maintenance.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 300 pounds when moving equipment or supplies.
• The ability to comprehend and follow routine written or verbal instructions or directions

TASKS

• Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Muenster Hospital District.
• Maintains HIPAA required and all other confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis.
• Follows safety guidelines and all policies and procedures of MHD.
• Enter and maintain personal time in time clock system.

• Performs duties as directed to assist in the maintenance and repair of hospital buildings and grounds.

• Paints interior and exterior walls, ceilings and trim, parking lots and hand rails using brushes, rollers and/or sprayers.
• Move and assemble scaffolding /ladders used in painting or repair work.
• Assists in carpentry repair and construction projects as directed by supervisor.
• Performs helper duties for electrical and mechanical maintenance/repair projects as directed by supervisor.
• Perform helper duties for HVAC maintenance and repair projects as directed by supervisor.
• Operates lawnmowers, lawn tractors, weed-eaters, blowers and all grounds keeping equipment as directed by supervisor.
• Assists in maintaining and cleaning interior and exterior light fixtures of facility as directed by supervisor.
• Assists in maintaining and cleaning exterior glass windows as directed by supervisor.
• Applies rodent control measures on interior and exterior of facility as directed by supervisor.

Sorts and stocks supplies and equipment

• Places supplies and equipment received into proper storage areas.
• Helps perform accountability and record keeping on supplies and equipment.
• Maintains/organizes clean and safe working areas in maintenance shop and buildings as directed by supervisor.
