A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.The Workday Payroll, Timekeeping, and Absence System Administrator has a multifaceted role that involves maintaining and supporting the Global Workday platform, implementing new functionality and managing change requests for payroll, absence and time tracking. The Workday Payroll, Timekeeping, and Absence System Administrator is a multifaceted role to oversee the governance, compliance, and operational integrity of payroll, time and absence functionality within the Workday System.
The position is a global position within HR Central Services organization (HRCS) and specifically within the Global Workday Team. This position will oversee company-wide alignment, ensure compliance with regulations, and enhance operational efficiency by establishing strategic direction and influencing stakeholders to maintain payroll, time and absence governance.
Responsible for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Global Payroll division’s information systems and supporting operational processes with outsourced vendors. This position works closely with members of HRCS, including payroll and reporting to assess and define business requirements and subsequently manage their implementation and maintenance in Workday, as well as other information systems. Provides technical and HRIS strategic leadership to the global payroll team and HR COE requestors to ensure all business system requirements and operational processes are implemented and supported effectively. This position acts as global design lead for all configuration of workday payroll, timekeeping, absence and third-party payroll, supporting all countries in EMEA, ASIA and Americas.
Responsibilities:

System Maintenance and Configuration:
- Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and governance of Workday Payroll and Workforce management (Time and Absence).
- Perform Payroll administrator functions such as security maintenance, business process configuration, tenant configuration, and support for integrations specific to payroll, time tracking, and absence module.
- Provide expertise in subject matter, analysis, system/process design, testing, and communications throughout the development life cycle of new solutions. Offer ongoing support to the Payroll team and the HR community during key processes.
- Act as a liaison between global and regional teams, ensuring operational consistency across payroll, absence, and time processes.
- Collaborate closely with various departments outside the function, including Information Technology, Legal, Finance, and Compliance.
- Issue Resolution: Leads issues resolution and response coordination during unplanned adverse events involving technology and process. Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve system issues, ensuring smooth operation of payroll and time tracking processes.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within Workday.
- Training and Support: Provide ongoing training and support to end-users, ensuring they are equipped to effectively use Workday features. Ensure open communication with end users to identify areas of improvement. Partner with change management and communications to create materials related to end user training. Assist payroll division on documenting standard operating procedures to serve as regulatory controls related to Workday.
- Compliance: Active as a governance leave ensuring adherence to internal policies, SOX, SOC1, GDPR, and regional labor laws. Develop and implement payroll compliance frameworks, assist in maintaining and creating regular reporting for SOX compliance and access reviews. Identify compliance risks and operational gaps, developing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Feature Updates: Oversee tier 2 in Workday feature release testing. Responsible for updates and enhancements bi-annually. Create and maintain Workday roadmap for payroll.
- Vendor Management: Assist in vendor management for third party payroll and processors, ensuring all deliverables are achieved in a cost-effective manner.
- Integrations: Ensures changes to systems are developed, configured and tested in non-production environments before being deployed in the live environments. Manage Payroll integrations and operational aspects of key processes, such as the annual pay review cycle, special bonus runs and other payroll initiatives.
- Documentation: Drives documentation and standardization of payroll governance policies. Ensures all changes and enhancements are well documented utilizing best practices to ensure version control and standard naming conventions strategies are employed. Assist payroll division on documenting standard operating procedures to serve as regulatory controls related to Workday.
- Data Integrity: Ensures the integrity of payroll data and accurate/optimal use of the HRIS system (Workday).
- Implementation: Establishes priority and manages the delivery schedule for technology enhancements and operational projects, in partnership with other stakeholders, as appropriate.
- Best Practices: Assist in shaping long-term payroll governance, compliance and operations. Develops procedures and best practice processes focused on Payroll/HRSS initiatives.
- Design standard configuration for global payroll operations, ensuring compliance is maintained
- Leadership: Leads the effective administration and management of tier 2 partners on the Workday system, payroll plans and programs.
- Operational Efficiency: Proactively oversees projects, as assigned, routinely assessing status, addressing risks and ensuring Payroll management is aware of important developments.
- Change Management: Partner with change management and communications to create materials related to end user training.

Qualifications:
- Experience: 5 years of experience as a Workday analyst or administrator, with hands-on configuration experience in Time Tracking & Absence, Talent & Performance.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Workday configuring system, demonstrating functionalities, User and Integration testing and troubleshooting issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office with intermediate skills in Visio and PowerPoint.
- Advanced Business Analytics skills with ability to extract and analyze large volumes of data.
- Integration Management: 5 years’ experience with integrating Workday with other third-party vendor systems, specifically third-party payroll, employment verification and benefits.
- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of regulatory requirements related to payroll and timekeeping.
- Knowledge of Payroll-related policies/procedures including federal, state and local payroll laws and regulations.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $121-160K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
