Job Summary:

Seeking Senior Administrator / Engineer with Power-BI, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), Microsoft Fabric, Automation and Development experience.

This role is within the Business Intelligence Platforms group, and the position requires an experienced IT professional with advanced knowledge of PowerShell automation skills, Power-BI & Power-Platform management, and Gateway administration, and dealing with Business/IT users

Power BI and Power-Automate Administrator will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Power BI /Power-Platform environment to support business intelligence and analytics needs throughout the whole organization.

Software development and automation experience in data-driven environment is a plus – Familiarity with variety of development methods and tools; Safe Agile practices; Background of AWS Cloud (preferably) with exposure to DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert level IT technical services, including direction, configuration, implementation and integration of Power-BI and Power-Platform Services.
  • Manage and maintain the Power BI environment, including configuration, security and data policies.
  • Data management & modelling: Connect and manage Power BI to various data sources, including on-premises and cloud-based data sources. Implement and maintain semantic models to ensure data integrity and performance optimization. Perform data cleansing and transformation tasks (ETL) to prepare data for analysis.
  • Report and dashboard development: Design, develop, deploy, and configure Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
  • Technical support: Provide technical guidance and support to end-users, ensuring effective adoption and utilization of Power BI and Power Platform solutions.
  • Performance monitoring: Monitor and optimize Power BI performance, including capacity planning and server performance.
  • Governance: Maintain governance policies, best practices, and security standards for the Power BI; Enforce usage policies and patterns.
  • Training and knowledge sharing: Provide training and share knowledge with colleagues to enable them delivering on reporting needs with Power BI.
  • Roadmap building and prioritization: Develop and maintain the Power BI roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and strategic goals
  • Data Gateways: Manage and support data gateways to ensure secure data access, high availability and load balancing
  • Monitoring Usage and Performance: Track usage metrics and performance to improve the service.
  • Design and implement automated workflows and integrate Power-BI and Powe-platform into various enterprise systems such as Splunk, Service-Now etc.
  • Maintain documentation and standards for workflows
  • Partner, collaborate and drive accountability with internal teams and technology vendors.
  • Anticipate technological changes within our environment. Suggest architectural and design improvements. Recommend process improvements
  • Use scale agile development methodologies and work in product mindset environment

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5 - 8 years as a Power BI Administrator or similar role.
  • Minimum of 8 years of IT experience or equivalent with business intelligence tools, developing management reports and also exposure to DBMS (datastore) internals
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, visualization, and analysis techniques
  • Experience with REST APIs and integrating Power BI with other systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Have either an AWS associate or professional certification or Azure certification (or equivalent)

Preferred:

  • Exposure and experience with Tableau and/or Business Objects platform administration
  • Exposure to ETL and data movement tools such as Talend, Informatica, AWS Glue
  • Exposure to Data Virtualization tools such as Starburst, Dremio and Denodo
  • Well versed with Scale Agile methodology – team collaboration and work transparency
  • Experience with Office 365 Suite Administration; SharePoint Online, Purview, Entra ID

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience

The typical base pay range for this role is between $124K - $156K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
