Job Summary:
The Linux Manager/Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing the Linux/Unix engineering and operations team. This role involves managing the build and support of operating systems, including Linux (Red Hat), Unix (AIX), and Cloud AWS. The manager will ensure the team's efficiency in handling hardware support, vulnerability patch management, security, risk, and compliance for supported platforms. Additionally, the role includes leading automation efforts and providing project support for various initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience
The typical base pay range for this role is between $139K - $168K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation. - Collaborate with various departments to support project initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze support requests, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Manage and track operational, preventative, project, and maintenance support activities.
- Lead efforts to migrate systems and decommission outdated platforms.
- Ensure compliance with security and risk management protocols.
- Minimum 8 year experience
- Proven experience in managing Linux/Unix engineering and operations teams.
- Strong knowledge of Linux (Red Hat), Unix (AIX), and Cloud AWS.
- Experience with hardware support for IBM pSeries (AIX) and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization.
- Proficiency in vulnerability patch management and compliance with technical security standards.
- Experience with automation platforms like Ansible.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Certifications in Linux, Unix, or related technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies.
