What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabrication Specialist position at Mugwump Productions?
We are looking for a fabrication specialist to join our team! Working closely with our design and production teams, you will play a crucial role in bringing our event visions to life.
The fabrication specialist is responsible for constructing and fabricating various elements, including stage sets, props, displays, and other custom structures.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in carpentry, woodworking, and metalworking, along with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating visually stunning environments.

What you will be doing:
- Designing and building custom props, event structures, scenic elements, furniture, and storage containers. This includes all phases including sanding, painting, cutting and assembling.
- Work closely with the design and production teams to understand project requirements.
- Provide input on feasibility and construction methods.
- Compose comprehensive budgets for projects, encompassing both material and labor costs.
- Select appropriate materials for each project, considering aesthetics, durability, and budget constraints.
- Maintain and repair event inventory.
- Complete finished work within clearly defined deadlines.
- Ensure all carpentry and fabrication work meets high standards of quality, precision, and safety.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to create a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues. This includes maintaining a clean and organized workshop.

Your team and working environment:
Mugwump Productions is based in Jacksonville FL. This is an in-person position, and you will be working in our newly built building conveniently located near the Town Center (off 295 & Beach Blvd.)
