Job Summary :
Muhlenberg College Art Department invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor studio art position in photography, beginning August 2025. As a selective liberal arts institution, Muhlenberg emphasizes excellent teaching in a student-focused environment where faculty teach a 3 / 3 course load over two semesters.
Applicants should demonstrate an ability to teach digital photography at the introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels. Knowledge of analog process and experience with related media (i.e. performance, installation) and / or interdisciplinary collaborations is preferred. Maintenance and supervision of the digital and analog photography labs is also expected. Studio art faculty at Muhlenberg are required to be consistently and effectively engaged in professional activity, with an ongoing commitment to presenting their work in public venues. Faculty are expected to perform college service in the form of academic advising, shared governance, and other points of engagement.
Candidates must hold an MFA degree by date of hire. The successful candidate must be a collaborator and mentor with strong communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching. Successful completion of satisfactory background checks is also required.
