Job summary
Motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist with 1–2 years of experience in a Purchasing or Procurement department. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert for their assigned commodities, demonstrating ownership of the purchasing process from requisition review to order fulfillment. Key responsibilities include initiating and managing purchase orders for materials and services, ensuring data integrity through high-volume data input, and actively tracking raw material inventory. This role involves consistent supplier communication to verify data accuracy, request updates, and confirm delivery timelines. The successful candidate will be experienced in preparing and managing complex reports using Excel, coordinating administrative functions such as meeting scheduling and reporting, and supporting continuous improvement of purchasing procedures. They will play a key role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date information on open orders, including ETAs, shipping status, and receipt confirmations. Additional responsibilities include: • Participating in supplier performance surveys and follow-ups • Managing and documenting cost savings initiatives • Learning and navigating the MRP system to support sourcing strategies • Collaborating cross-functionally across all levels of the organization • Supporting Buyers with sourcing projects and handling ad hoc assignments • Representing the company at industry trade shows to build supplier relationships and stay informed on market trends • Leading or contributing to special projects as directed by management Candidates must demonstrate a history of measurable cost savings, strong analytical and communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
