What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shift Supervisor position at Muir Wood Adolescent & Family Services?
Muir Wood Adolescent & Family Services is a residential treatment program designed specifically for teens ages 12-17 suffering from mental health and substance use conditions. Our programs fill a crucial need by making mental healthcare available to the vast majority of families in need.
The Shift Supervisor is the point person during the designated shift and is responsible for the supervision of the Care Coordinators and clients. Responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the Care Coordinators in accordance with policies and procedures, current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility to assure that our facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner. This position is on-site.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Weekly checks of all documentation, physical plant, resident room, bathroom supplies, medical supplies, and all aspects of resident charting.
- Responsible for residents personal property (cash record, surety bond (lic402), personal property list, loans to minor documentation (80026)(E)(I)(A);and up to date information in resident charts.
- Works with the Care Coordinator Manager to ensure that the program is adequately and appropriately staffed.
- Familiarizes Care Coordinator with procedures, location, and use of documents, paperwork, and resident charts
- Fully understands and maintains policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and patient confidentiality.
- Participates in training and meets agency and licensure expectations related to training.
- Monitors documents according to company and HIPPA policies.
- Facilitate residents’ daily activities in residential settings including assistance with daily activities, chores supervision, assistance with meal service, laundry, etc.
- Transport residents to and from necessary appointments.
- Conducts introduction/check-in/discharges to/from Muir Wood with new residents including search of all items prior to admittance and lock up of contraband and medications.
- Working actively with residents who may be at risk for AMA including one-to-one counseling, notification of assigned Counselor and immediate notification to the Clinical Director when residents vocalize ideations about leaving the residential program.
- Active participation in intervening with staff in milieu to troubleshoot and improve proper use of behavioral intervention techniques specified in the behavioral intervention plans.
- Documentation of services as required by applicable law and regulation, and other duties as assigned to facilitate program success and the ability of residents to benefit from programming.
- Professionally, ethically, and compassionately relates to clients and peers at all times.
- Attend meetings as scheduled.

Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Psychology preferred
- Experience working with adolescents in a residential setting
- Experience in a leadership role
- TB required and health screen, along with CPR and first aid
Pay is $25-$27/hour based on education and experience
