This is an 8.0 hour per day, 190 day per year, Administrative Assistant I position in the Nutrition Services Department at the District Support Services Center. Anticipated start date is as soon as possible.
Hours for this position are 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
JOB TITLE: Administrative Assistant I – Nutrition Services
CLASSIFICATION: Office - MACP
REPORTS TO: Director of Nutrition Services
JOB SUMMARY:
The Administrative Assistant I is responsible for providing clerical services for the Director of Nutrition Services and a variety of support services for staff, students, parents, and community members.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide clerical services to include letter preparation, answering department phones, processing of department mail, maintaining office calendar, and updating department contact lists.
- Prepare Free and Reduced state and district reports.
- Prepare bank deposits and online payment reconciliation.
- Process and qualify or disqualify Free/Reduced Applications.
- Perform menu planning development and analysis through software-based system.
- Post and distribute all menus and related material to district websites and schools.
- Create Production Records, Order Guides and maintain online ordering system.
- Arrange for placement of food service substitute personnel, as necessary.
- Serve as Point of Sale (POS) system expert; troubleshoot and provide user support as needed.
- Process timecards and input into Kronos.
- Assist in event coordination activities.
- Maintain and order all office supplies as needed.
- Word process, type, data entry, copy, collate, sort, file and distribute documents.
- Prioritize and organize tasks for the purpose of meeting deadlines, accessibility of information, and completing tasks in a timely manner.
- Work effectively across cultures, demonstrate ability to engage with diverse communities, and be sensitive to the needs of diverse clientele.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Comply with District Policies.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned by the director for the purpose of maintaining an organized and efficient environment.

- Skill and proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
- Knowledge and successful experience creating excel spreadsheets to sort, check, and verify a variety of data.
- Ability to enter data and/or download information from another software program into Excel for the purpose of analyzing and checking fiscal/budget information.
- Ability to use a computerized student record management system to maintain student data and information.
Education/Training:
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
Experience
- Three years of applicable office or clerical experience. Vocation or technical clerical training may substitute for work experience.
- School district experience preferred.
- Nutrition Services/food industry experience preferred.
- Experience with Free/Reduced application and approval process.
