Library Associate

Position Title: Library Associate

Number of Open Positions: 1

Hours: Current requirement is an average of 20 hours per week. Must be available multiple days of the week including Friday afternoons (3:00pm to 6:00pm), Tuesdays (9:00 am to 3:00 pm), and rotating Saturdays. Flexibility in scheduling is required.

Pay rate: $16.81 – $20.00 an hour depending upon experience

The Mukwonago Community Library seeks a high-energy, team-oriented candidate with exceptional customer service skills and a passion for libraries to work with our dynamic and innovative Collections and Programs Team. Must be excited to develop and deliver programs for children, tweens, and teens using all spaces in the library including collaborating with the staff in our makerspace, the MetaSpace 511. Duties include providing reader’s advisory and reference services at the Info Desk, delivering programs, and assisting with basic collection development. Must be friendly, cooperative, comfortable with technology, and able to work independently. Current MLIS students encouraged to apply.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Skilled in utilizing technology to conduct all aspects of the job including communication, record keeping, and customer service
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and cooperative manner to staff and library visitors

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Experience working in libraries, education, or similar jobs
