Benefits Administrator

What you should know: Mulberry has partnered with a local non-profit organization to hire a contract Benefits Administrator! You will have the opportunity to support open enrollment, and work on larger benefits focused projects during their busy season. This is an special opportunity to contribute to an organization with 124 locations, deeply-rooted in the Portland area and on a mission to support its communities through impactful initiatives and services. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for service, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to work in a collaborative and mission-driven environment.
A day in the life:
- Administers benefits, changes, while ensuring compliance.
- Coordinates annual plan renewals and open enrollment activities for all programs.
- Produces employee communications such as enrollment guides, forms, newsletters, and other information as needed to maximize employees’ understanding of their benefits.
- Acts as liaison between employees and benefit vendors to resolve non-routine administration and claim issues.
- Advises other administrators on matters concerning benefits policies and procedures. Conducts benefits presentations during open enrollment.Provides ongoing education/training through workshops, presentations, and written communications on benefit issues.
- Handles benefit orientation, enrollment, and other communication for all employees. Provides payroll adjustment data to Financial Services and reconciles premium payments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- 3-5 years of benefits administration
- Strong communication, analytical skills, and able to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy and confidentiality
Compensation and Benefits: $40-45/HR with access to benefits via Mulberry’s employer of record partner.
