MULE Engineering & Construction, Inc. is looking for a Commercial Construction Superintendent. The project will located in Orlando, FL for Osceola Schools. We are looking to hire for this position immediately.


CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

· Responsible for the construction site and all activities on that site.

· Oversees and directs the material, tools, equipment, and labor used to complete the construction activities.

· Acts as a liaison between the company and the customer.

· Responsible for job site logistics, scheduling, quality control, safety, field office operations, daily reports and overall morale.

· Committed to continually driving the project forward from start to completion.

· Must have general knowledge of all trades on the project and must be able to forecast and execute the required activities within the project schedule.

· Knowledge of how to prepare a 3-week look ahead.

· Oversees both MULE employees and subcontractors’ operations.

· Must be able to work independently.

· Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills to be able to interact with co-workers, owners, owners’ representatives and subcontractors.

· Should have the ability to identify horizon issues and facilitate solutions.

· Safety is #1. Performs daily toolbox meetings and maintains a safe and accident-free environment via the strict enforcement of all pertinent OSHA rules and regulations.

· Works with the Project Manager for cost related responsibilities.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.

Must be able to climb ladders.

Must be able to handle overhead tasks.


GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

· Requires a strong leader with a minimum of five years’ experience working with commercial projects, preferably on schools.

· Must have an acceptable combination of education at the post-secondary level, college degree(s) in engineering, construction management or business; vocational training; and/or field construction experience.

· Must be able to interpret construction building plans and specifications.

· Must be able work with MS Project to create and update master construction schedule.

· Must be able to prepare and review submittals in accordance with the project plans and specifications.

· Knowledge and experience with school projects.

· EM 385-1-1, CQM, and OSHA 30 Certified a plus

· Must be capable of learning new technical and non-technical information and applying it in the field.

· Must have Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project)
