Position Overview
Mullen & Filippi, LLP seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney with at least two years of practice in the field. This full-time hybrid or remote role offers a manageable caseload, allowing for high-quality legal work and a balanced professional life. Responsibilities encompass providing strategic legal counsel, conducting thorough research, negotiating favorable settlements, and handling labor and employment law matters effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in all stages of workers' compensation litigation, including initial investigations, depositions, hearings, trials, and appeals.
- Develop and implement effective defense strategies tailored to each case.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and provide sound legal advice to clients.
- Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel, ensuring favorable outcomes for clients.
- Manage an independent caseload while staying informed about changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations.
- Appear for hearings virtually or in-person when necessary.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in workers' compensation defense or related fields.
- Proficiency in legal research and the ability to provide clear and concise legal advice.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of favorable settlements.
- Superior written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a remote work environment effectively.
