Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Service Lane Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers entering the service area, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth workflow in the service lane. Your mechanical knowledge and automotive expertise will play a crucial role in assisting customers with their vehicle needs and enhancing their overall experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers as they arrive in the service lane and assess their automotive needs.
- Conduct initial inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues and relay findings to service technicians.
- Assist in writing service orders and documenting customer concerns accurately.
- Provide recommendations for necessary services based on mechanical knowledge, including brake repair, shocks, struts, and other automotive diagnostics.
- Upsell additional services or products that may benefit the customer’s vehicle performance.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service lane area to ensure a professional environment.
- Collaborate with service technicians to facilitate timely repairs and services.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues that may arise during their visit.
Experience
- Previous experience in an automotive service environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in areas such as air brakes, automotive diagnostics, and brake repair.
- Experience with service writing and auto estimating is a plus.
- Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- DealerTrack and X-time experience preferred
