Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine the severity of addiction and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address underlying issues contributing to addiction
- Utilize evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, and psychotherapy to facilitate behavior change
- Assist clients in developing coping skills and strategies for relapse prevention
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses, to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date EHR records of client progress and treatment plans
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed
- Stay informed about current trends and developments in addiction medicine
Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Addiction Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- Certification or licensure as an Addiction Counselor (e.g., ADT, CAC, CSC, LCPC, LCSW)
- Previous experience working in addiction treatment or behavioral health setting is preferred
- Knowledge of client care principles and practices related to addiction treatment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to empathize and build rapport with clients
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
