Mulligan Security, the tri-state's leading private security organization, has an immediate job opportunity for a SOC Operator at a Class “A” commercial property in New York City.
The SOC Operator will be assigned to a busy commercial office building in midtown west. Candidates must have previous working experience in a similar role, the desire to work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment with a keen focus on attention to detail. This is a full-time position with the possibility of overtime, candidate must be able to work weekends.
The schedule for this position is as follows:
Sunday: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Essential Functions
- Answer telephone calls and e-mails from management, tenants and visitors in a timely and professional manner
- Retrieve and process the necessary information rapidly to ensure the message is properly communicated to any interested parties
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment to communicate critical information to both armed and unarmed security personnel on location while following established protocols and notifying emergency services
- Polished telephone and written communication skills when speaking to others which demonstrates an organized and serious atmosphere and represents Mulligan Security in a professional manner
- Monitor a large CCTV network and a familiarity with camera operations and video retrieval
- Ability to operate access control systems, run reports, activate or deactivate card access, maintain Do Not Admit groups and communicate with other security vendors as needed
- Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
- Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Advanced computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Office programs
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including all shifts, weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to report to work on time in all types of weather
- Must be able to meet Face to Face Relief criteria by extending past shift off times while waiting for post relief, working over 8 hours in a shift (adhering to applicable Federal and state Overtime regulations if applicable)
- Must be able to work outside for extended periods in all types of weather, including rain, snow, extreme cold and extreme heat.
- Able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Able to climb multiple flights of stairs
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma/GED
- 18 years of age
- Must be a NYS Licensed Security Officer (or be willing to obtain)
- Have the legal right to work in the United States
- Driver’s License (if contractually required)
- State Photo Identification
- Fireguard license (if contractually required)
- Medical exam (if contractually required)
- Verifiable Security Experience (between 1 year to 3 years, depending on contract)
- Previous employment verification
Monday and Tuesday: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM Wednesday: OFF Thursday and Friday: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM Saturday OFF Sunday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
