Maintenance Crew Leader

Reports To: Production Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise the activities of a landscaping crew of 3-5 employees on a daily basis to ensure schedules are adhered to and work is completed in a timely manner.
• Provide landscaping maintenance on commercial and residential properties in accordance with Mullins quality standards for turf and flower care, pruning and weed control.
• Establish and maintain safety and security for all employees and customers.
• Demonstrates Mullins customer service standards at all times.
• Ensure crew member daily timesheets are completed accurately.
• Inspect trucks and equipment daily to ensure they are in good working order and equipped with proper safety equipment and reports any problems to account manager.
• Communicate regularly with your manager about customer and employee concerns.
• Provide guidance to crew members on all aspects of landscaping
• Use effective communication skills.
• Use push, ride and stand-up mowers, edgers, pruners, weed eaters, blowers and other equipment to complete jobs.
• Use all appropriate equipment for watering and weed spraying.
• Build positive relationships with customers and employees.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, crouch, stoop or kneel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job are dictated by the Louisiana Drivers License requirements.

• A solid work ethic and good teamwork skills
• Skills in various gardening techniques and equipment
• High school degree or GED is preferred
• Have a valid driver license and a clean driving record
• Ability to read and write
• Must have the minimum of 2 years of experience in landscaping or construction
• Horticulture knowledge standards of pruning, planting and, digging, mulching
