About Us:
The Multi-Agency Alliance for Children is a non-profit organization committed to coordinating resources, information, and a network of quality providers to create positive outcomes for Georgia’s youth and families. We are currently seeking a Transitions Coordinator, who will play a pivotal role in supporting young adults to become economically self-sufficient through the coordination of professional and personal development opportunities, life skills, financial education and job training through MAAC’s Workforce Development program.
Job Purpose:
The Transitions Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and/or providing young adults with the skills, connections, and opportunities to succeed across any of MAAC’s transition programs. For example, Teen Parent Connection, Opportunity Passport and Workforce Development. Teen Parent Connection works to provide household management, employment assistance and mentoring to pregnant and parenting teens in foster care. Opportunity Passport is a financial education and asset matching program that supports the financial capability of youth as they leave foster care. The Workforce Development program supports youth joining the workforce through high demand IT and technical apprenticeships. As the Transition Coordinator, maintaining accurate records of meetings, timely requisitions and reporting of service requests, resources, and ongoing communication with all team members will be vital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate and facilitate youth and young adult curricula for Life Skills and workforce development workshops alongside existing partners, internal/external stakeholders including young adults.
- Coordinate and support young adults with sustainable housing plans, and success plans through the facilitation of meetings with young adults and community partners.
- Support the ongoing programmatic events and activities throughout the year, including Survey month, Mommy & Me Camp, holiday party, etc.
- Complete required documentation within outlined timelines into Exponent Case Management (ECM).
- Assist with program development and sustainability efforts.
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings including but not limited to Community Partnership Group pertaining youth and program while being a liaison to all stakeholders.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Essential:
- High school Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree required in Human Services (preferred) or related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite, or similar software with ability to learn new or updated software.
- Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred:
- 2 years of relevant experience in coordination of resources and services for youth and families.
- Knowledge of the Georgia Child Welfare, Mental Health System, WIOA, Technical College System of Georgia and MAAC and its many functions.
- Experience working with and in a youth or family-centered practice model.
Work Environment:
This role is a full-time, 40-hour a week position that generally works in the field and requires occasional monthly in-office presence. To effectively support the youth, the expected work week is Monday through Friday with evenings and weekend work as needed.
