Job Duties
- Assist patient’s pre and post care by the D.C.
- Take vital signs of patients
- Perform physical therapy modalities as directed by the D.C.
- Accurately and legibly document modalities performed and subjective patient comments on progress notes
- Maintain cleanliness of exam and treatment rooms at all times
- Monitor controls on physical therapy equipment
- Launder towels, gowns, heat pack covers, etc. as required
- Maintain inventory and order supplies
- Assist in general office operations as needed including filing, prepping charts, answering phones, patient registration, posting charges, scanning, cleaning, etc.
- Travels to other locations as directed to maintain adequate coverage for quality patient care
- Assist in maintaining office in neat, clean and orderly fashion
- If considered a Floater or Traveler Certified Chiropractic Assistant (this would be mutually agreed upon), the Employee must travel to all locations within their respective region as needed for coverage
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed and/or as necessary
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Chiropractic Assistant state certification required.
Motor Vehicle Report Monitoring
In the event Employee does not maintain the insurance coverage required under this Policy & Procedure, and/or does not maintain a valid license to operate a motor vehicle, that Employee shall not be eligible for mileage reimbursement and is barred from operating any motor vehicle in furtherance of Company business. Operating a motor vehicle in furtherance of Company business without a valid state-issued driver’s license to do so and/or maintain insurance of the type and amounts set forth herein shall subject the Employee to immediate disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Additional Skills/Competencies
- Certification in CPR and/or First Aid. Must be maintained throughout employment
- 1-year experience in an office providing physical therapy and/or chiropractic care
- Tact and skill in patient management
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively interact with doctors, patients, and co-workers
Physical/Mental Requirements
Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, crawling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting maximum of 20 lbs.
