Job Description / Essential Elements :
Multicultural Learning Center Elementary Bilingual (Spanish / English) Teacher The Multicultural Learning Center currently has an opening for an Elementary Bilingual Teacher. We are looking for an individual that will conduct themselves in a professional manner and is willing to learn from others as well as share his / her knowledge with other staff members.The Multicultural Learning Center (MLC) is a K-8 public charter school located in Canoga Park, CA with the mission of bringing together a diverse community of learners where cultural and individual differences are the building blocks of academic, social, and interpersonal success. Our Spanish / English dual language model allows children of both language backgrounds to learn side-by-side gaining respect of each other's cultures and learning to communicate in each other's languages.MLC teaching staff demonstrates responsibility and accountability for meeting the goals of the educational program. Annual group and individual professional goals are identified and assessed through a Peer Review Process. As members of the MLC faculty, teachers are encouraged to maintain a professional growth plans and portfolios and to affiliate with professional educational organizations.MLC offers an educational program that meets the learning needs of all students through :

- High level of literacy in both English and Spanish
- California Credential with a BCLAD
- Lifelong learner with a collaborative spirit
- Experience with bilingual instructionInstructional Requirements :
- Engage and support all students in learning

- Understand and organize subject matter for student learning
- Plan instruction and design learning experiences for all students

- Attend school staff development and staff meetings
- Collect and analyze student data to improve the school-wide instructional program School-wide Requirements :
- Participate on school governance committees and decision-making process
- Actively maintain open and ongoing communication with parents
- Ensure health and safety of students and staff
- Recruit and retain students and families to the dual immersion program
- Collaborate with all staff to maintain a culture of respect and honest and open communication
- Promote MLC philosophy and goalsTeachers must be fluent in both English and Spanish and possess academic level vocabulary and syntax expertise in both languages. We are seeking teachers with a constructivist teaching methodology. Requirements / Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications :
California Teaching Credential with a Bilingual Authorization
Fluency in both English and Spanish and academic level vocabulary and syntax expertise in both languages
