Job Summary
At MLC, the Humanities Teacher designs and implements integrated lessons in Language Arts and History / Social Studies to students in grades 7-8. Teachers engage students in project-based learning units that address state language arts standards in and the History / Social Science Framework as well as the social justice standards. As MLC is a dual immersion school, the History / Social Studies portion is taught in Spanish, requiring the candidate to be bilingual.
Teachers at MLC are responsible for fulfilling the goals and objectives of MLC's educational program as described in its charter. This includes preparing and implementing lessons that are engaging and integrated across subject matter, designing a standards-based curriculum in two languages, effectively managing the classroom and student behaviors, and assessing and evaluating student outcomes to target growth. Teachers at MLC commit to professional growth and development and participate fully in opportunities for professional development to improve practice and meet school-wide goals,
