We are looking for professional bilingual Spanish and English remote medical interpreters who want to join an international company. Over-the-Phone (OPI) Interpreters at Multilingual Interpreters and Translators will play a vital role in ensuring effective communication between Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers. In this rewarding position, you will serve as a bridge, facilitating understanding and enabling patients to receive the care they need. It is essential that the candidate can understand and interpret a variety of medical-related terminology and be knowledgeable about various medical processes and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Answer calls in a professional manner, acting according to the Interpreter's code of conduct, HIPPA and FWA.
• Be always prepared to take notes during a call.
• Be aware of the specific vocabulary of the industry the interpreter works with (healthcare and medical one, specifically).
• Participate in a in-house professional training.
• Communicate and report to your team leader.
• Provide accurate and impartial interpretation services during medical consultations, medical terminology, procedures, instructions, information between Spanish-speaking patients and English-speaking healthcare professionals and other healthcare interactions.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all patient interactions
• Participate in workshops and coaching opportunities to enhance your interpreting skills

Qualifications:

• Proficiency/Bilingual/Native level of English and target language (Spanish).
• 1 years of interpreting experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare systems.
• International certifications in the healthcare industry are a plus (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).
• High school or equivalent diploma.
• Strong emotional intelligence and a deep respect for diverse cultures.
• High level of communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
• Fluency in both Spanish and English, with the ability to interpret between the two languages seamlessly.
• Strong ethical principles and a commitment to patient-centered care.
• Certification as a medical interpreter or equivalent experience preferred.
• Taking a Language, Terminology testing, and background check is required.

Technical requirements: Since this position is fully remote, you should comply with several technical requirements for your computer. We need to ensure that your home office will work effectively.

• Ethernet connection (Wi-Fi is not allowed). Internet speed of 10Mbps Download/Upload. Make sure you comply by running a simple test at speedtest.net (A technical verification with our tech support team will be taken)
• Your computer or laptop should be Mac or any other model with MacOS 10.13 or Windows 10 or newer, with Minimum: I3 processor. Recommended: i5 / i7 2.4 GHz and above.
• Your working machine should have a 4 GB RAM Minimum (8GB recommended).
• We require noise-cancelling wired USB Headsets.

What we offer you:

• Rate of $0.30/minute interpreted which is $18.00 per hour.
