Biomedical Engineering Technician II
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Job Description
The Biomedical Engineering Technician II will be responsible for the following:
- Performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on medical equipment and systems
- Assisting in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new medical equipment and systems
- Providing technical support to clinical staff and other departments
- Documenting all work performed in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
- Participating in on-call rotation and responding to emergency service calls as needed
- Assisting in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures
- Participating in training and continuing education programs to maintain and enhance technical skills
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair in a hospital setting.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and systems, including diagnostic imaging, patient monitoring, and life support equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must pass background and drug screen.
