What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025-2026 Host Teacher - Teacher Residency Program position at Multiple Campus Locations?
Major Duties:
- Have the ability to coach, model and develop their assigned teacher resident in areas of instructional strategies, student growth and development, classroom management and communication.
- Provide consistent constructive feedback to the resident teacher throughout the entirety of the residency program.
- Guide their resident(s) to know how to reflect on their own practice, and progressively overtime be able to generate and implement strategies to increase their effectiveness.
- Consistently establish independent planning responsibilities with the resident, and support them in their understanding of core content areas.
- Follow all guidelines, reporting, and expectations set forth by Del Valle ISD Central Administration, and EPP Site Coordinator.
- Consistently monitor and support residents achieves each milestone through the assignment.
- Attend and participate in all meetings/professional development that pertain to the Residency Program.
- Facilitate the residents' use of evidence to refine and develop their pedagogical abilities.
- Coach resident teacher in how to gather and analyze data to inform differentiated instruction.
- Partner with EPP faculty to promote resident teacher professional growth and learning.
- Engage in consistent and open communication about resident teacher with TXST COE facility.
- Report progress of teacher candidates through regular surveys and participating in formal evaluation meetings.
This stipend is in addition to your regular salary. The start dates and end dates for the supplemental duty(ies) may be
different from the start and end dates under your employment contract with the district. Your stipend(s) include(s)
payment for all duties, responsibilities, and additional time your supplemental duty(ies) may require. A stipend
associated with a particular supplemental duty may be prorated if you do not complete the supplemental duty or if the
supplemental duty is terminated for any reason.
Your supplemental duty(ies) is/are at-will and is/are not part of your employment contract with the district. There
is no property right to your continuation of the supplemental duty(ies). You may resign one or more of these
supplemental duties at any time or the district may reassign or terminate one or more supplemental duties at any
time.
