SPECIAL EDUCATION SUMMER PROGRAMS
Position: Paraprofessionals (up to 60)
Reports to: Teacher/Building Administrator
Dates of Employment:
- 20 Days - Students attend July 7-August 1 M-F
- 5 days for PD and prep June 27- July 3
- 4 Hours per day (Mornings- time TBD)
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Report to teacher and Program Administrators
- Act as part of an inter-disciplinary classroom team
- Assist teacher in maintaining classroom management, curriculum and expectations
- Physically assist students as needed; this may include holding, carrying, feeding, and toileting.
- Assist in carrying out therapies as requested.
- Perform other tasks as requested by teacher.
- Assist with breakfast and lunch duties
- Assist with student arrival and dismissal
Qualifications:
- Experience in educational programs serving students with disabilities
- Meets DESE standard for highly qualified paraprofessional
Salary: $25 hourly per contract
