Multiquip is looking for a highly skilled and driven Power Applications Manager to join our Product and Engineering group. This role will focus on driving product success, supporting product development, and enhancing the customer experience. The ideal candidate needs to have expertise in mobile power generator products and experience in designing, laying out, and commissioning temporary power systems at job sites and facilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Applications Expertise for Customer Projects:
- Provide technical expertise in designing and commissioning systems both offsite and at customer
jobsites. - Ensure the correct generator is selected to guarantee reliability.
- Collaborate with customer application specialists to design and commission projects.
- Gather insights from applications to identify sales opportunities and drive product improvement.
- Offer support for escalated application-related questions and issues.
2. Product Management Support:
- Conduct targeted visits to customer sites to align product decisions with industry trends and customer
needs. - Identify application requirements, product limitations, and opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend product changes based on customer feedback and application performance.
- Validate new products and product changes through collaboration with design and engineering teams.
3. Generator Controller Expertise:
- Maintain a knowledge base on generator controllers to support diverse applications.
- Perform field testing of software releases and define requirements for software revisions in
collaboration with customers and engineering teams.
4. Support Engineering Team:
- Provide operational support and considerations during product development.
- Work closely with controls specialists to ensure software quality.
5. Support Sales Team:
- Assist sales teams with complex technical and application discussions.
- Recommend products best suited for customer applications and define project scopes.
- Collaborate on engineering-focused discussions with consultants and engineering firms.
6. Support Customized Products:
- Collaborate with engineering, product and production teams on designing and testing customized
solutions.
- Prepare MI reports and conduct quality assurance checks.
- Review warranty claims and recommend replacement parts based on technical research.
- Review product manuals and documentation.
- Provide general customer support as needed.
- Strong technical background in generator controllers or similar systems.
- Experience in customer-facing roles, including technical discussions and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to travel 50% of the time.
