SUMMARY: The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and support of new and existing products. This role requires strong technical expertise in hardware design, testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and develop new hardware solutions, ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
Create and review schematic designs and assist with PCB layout using ECAD tools.
Participate in design reviews for schematics, PCB layouts, and assembly drawings.
Conduct electrical component evaluation, prototype testing, debugging, and validation.
Support regulatory testing and approvals for new and existing products.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, software, manufacturing, and customer support.
Engage with external suppliers and contractors to support product development.
Assist in product lifecycle management, including ECO creation and product modifications.
Adhere to quality system standards and company policies.
Desired Skills: These qualifications represent the key skills needed for success in this role:
Familiarity with Altium Designer CAD tools.
Familiarity with SPICE simulation tools.
Familiarity with common lab test equipment: function generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, network analyzers, thermal cameras and electronic load.
Use of soldering iron, hot air tool, tweezers and microscope to rework circuit board components as small as 0402.
Familiarity with wireless design in licensed and/or unlicensed bands.
Design for EMC, Signal Integrity and Power Integrity.
Switching power supply design.
Embedded Microprocessors design with high-speed interfaces (USB, Ethernet, DDR3, SPI, I2C, etc.)
Mixed Signal Design, RF Circuit Design. and Digital Design.
Low Noise Analog Circuit Design.
Design and development of software for initial debug and/or performance testing of electrical systems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Requires strong communication skills.
Requires strong written communication skills to effectively convey information through emails and documentation.
Ability to work independently and with other departments.
Requires strong organizational skills.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in hardware design, testing, and development.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Requires standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods.
Frequent use of hands for handling small components and test equipment.
Reaching required.
Good vision required for fine detail work (close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception).
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Minimal noise.
Our facility includes a manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protection, wrist and shoe straps, and ESD smock.
Salary : $85,000 - $110,000
