What are the responsibilities and job description for the Innovation Center Technician position at MULTIVAC USA?
Position performs machine set ups and sample runs for customer samples and demonstrations. Position ensures Innovation Center machinery is properly maintained and performs as designed.
Time Utilization: Normal business hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm. Schedule needs to be flexible to accommodate customer schedules. This position may travel up to 5%.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
1. Offer customers package design, machine configuration or parameter settings recommendations based upon their project scope.
2. Customer facing knowledgeable ambassador for Multivac maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere.
3. Setup and configure Innovation Center machinery to create the desired sample using existing tooling in inventory or tooling designed specific to the customer.
4. Document each sample in CRM using photos, settings, materials, film thickness and professional opinions describing the trial.
5. Assist internal and external film suppliers when testing and validating films for various packaging applications.
6. Collaborate with design engineering department on customer tooling design. Conduct postmortem on each custom tooling sample with the mechanical engineering team to share experience.
7. Ensure films, product, and tooling for sample trials are ready and tested prior to customer arrival.
8. Assist in the setting up and tearing down of Innovation Center machinery as needed in the showroom.
9. Ensure showroom and sample bays are organized and clean for customers.
10. Assist in the troubleshooting and repair of Innovation Center equipment.

Education/Experience:
High School degree or equivalent and five years’ work experience in field service, packaging, maintenance, or manufacturing; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum two years of experience working with packaging machinery required. Multivac machinery a plus.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, schematics, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak English effectively before groups of customers or associates.
