What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gym Operations - Gym Attendant position at Multnomah Athletic Club?
The Role
We are looking for a Weekend Court Sports Gym Attendant to join the Court Sports Department at the Multnomah Athletic Club. The Court Sports Gym Attendant oversees the open play programs, classes, camps, and area reservations. Daily tasks will include gym cleanliness, setting up equipment, running open play programs, helping in classes and camps, and communicating with other staff and members.
There are two roles open and will cover two shifts. The first position is Saturday from 1:30 - 9:30 pm and 1:30 - 8:30 pm on Sunday. The second position will lead junior sports classes from 9:30 am - 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
What You Will Do
Assists and/or instructs within the Court Sports Department.
Provides in-person customer service to members regarding Court Sports programs.
Provides assistance to the Court Sports Supervisor in requesting new equipment for the Court Sports program.
Assists with registrations, and or cancellations of Court Sports reservations in Northstar.
Performs administrative/clerical duties as assigned by the Court Sports Supervisor.
Effectively uses Microsoft word, excel, and outlook.
May assist with Camps, Organized Activities, and other events included in Court Sports Programs.
Helps to maintain the gym areas, keeping gym area clean and reporting equipment repair and replacement needs to the Court Sports Supervisor. Reports any safety concerns about physical plant items and gym equipment to the Court Sports Supervisor.
Complies with all Club safety policies and procedures demonstrating safe work practices. Identifies and reports unsafe or hazardous conditions, safety concerns and replacement needs. Reports all workplace injuries and illnesses to supervisor.
Promotes the MAC code of conduct in club activities and demonstrates the importance of providing quality service to members.
What You'll Bring
Experience in an athletic setting is preferred (school sports, club sports, collegiate sports, intramural league, etc.).
Experience instructing youth is preferred.
Demonstrates effective planning, organizational, and communication skills.
Demonstrated computer proficiency including working knowledge of computer applications (i.e. Microsoft Office applications).
Ability to effectively communicate with members, guests, and employees in written and verbal form.
Ability and skill to establish and maintain good working relationships with employees and members.
Current CPR AED/ First Aid and SafeSport certifications required or must be obtained within the first three months of employment.
