What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weekend- Youth Programs Attendant position at Multnomah Athletic Club?
Role
We are looking for a Weekend Youth Programs Attendant to join the Multnomah Athletic Club's Youth Program. This individual needs to be available Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 am-1:00 pm to work onsite in our drop-in daycare facility with children 6 weeks to 6 years old (minimum requirement of 3 weekends a month).
This is a part time position with the potential to gain more hours depending on your availability outside of the hours and schedule listed above.
What You'll Do
Interacts positively with all staff, parents, children, and guests. Maintains an upbeat and friendly behavior.
Greets parents and children upon arrival and departure. Updates records of the children as needed.
Helps parent and child as needed to separate in a manner that reduces anxiety and eases the child’s transition into our care.
Maintains positive behavior among children; corrects misbehavior through redirection or moving the child to a safe, quiet area.
Conducts activities with children including games, art or craft projects, storytelling, imaginary play; monitors individual and group play.
Tends to children’s toileting, diapering, and hygiene needs as needed, following department procedures.
What You'll Bring
Experience with children infant - 6 years old is preferred but not required.
First Aid/ CPR certified and Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse Neglect training (or become certified within 90 days of hire)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively with a variety of people under a variety of circumstances.
Ability and skill to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and members.
Excellent customer service skills are a necessity.
