The Youth Inspection Staff / Program Aide positions work directly under supervision of the Tobacco Control and Prevention Program (TCPP) staff to conduct compliance inspections at licensed tobacco retail outlets. These inspections are required by Multnomah County Code Chapter 21 to make sure tobacco-related laws and regulations are being followed. The main focus of the inspections will be to prevent the sale of tobacco products to customers under 21 years old.
Youth Inspection Staff will work in the field at various locations throughout Multnomah County boundaries The ability to work in person is required. The team's transportation to the various worksites will be provided.
As part of the Youth Inspections Staff , you will :
- Work under supervision of staff to conduct unannounced compliance inspections at a predetermined list of tobacco retail outlets.
- Follow protocols and policies of Youth Inspections.
- Document inspections results, cash handling, and evidence collection.
- Compile and collect inspections data for analysis and reporting.
