Visitor Services Associate
Reports to: Visitor Experience Manager
Classification: Non-exempt, part-time

ABOUT THE VISITOR SERVICES ASSOCIATE POSITION
The Visitor Services Associate provides exceptional customer service by greeting visitors, processing admissions, and offering information about exhibits, events, and amenities. They assist with coat check, ticketing for films, and support during special events, ensuring a positive visitor experience. The role also includes promoting memberships, handling inquiries, and supporting the Center’s daily operations.
RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
· Ensure a positive and welcoming atmosphere by interacting with visitors in a friendly, professional manner and addressing any concerns or requests promptly.
· Maintain knowledge of Center programs and upcoming events to answer visitor inquiries and encourage participation in additional offerings.
· Process admissions and payments for programs, memberships, films, and events using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and balanced end of shift.
· Provide visitors with information about Center activities, exhibits, films, amenities (such as restroom, restaurant, gift shop), and offer directions as needed.
· Answer incoming phone calls promptly, providing courteous responses to inquiries and directing calls to the appropriate staff or departments.
· Help enforce safety and security procedures by monitoring visitor behavior and reporting any suspicious activity to the Safety & Security team.
· Promote and sell annual memberships by informing visitors of benefits, answering questions, and encouraging sign-ups.
· Provide exceptional customer service in the exhibit hall, answering visitor questions, offering information about exhibits, and assisting with any special requests to enhance the visitor experience.
· Monitor the exhibit hall to ensure exhibits are well-maintained and that visitors are following the appropriate guidelines, including safety protocols.
· Provide exceptional customer service during events, assisting with attendee check-ins, answering questions, and ensuring visitors have a smooth and enjoyable experience throughout the event.
· Manage coach check operations, securely storing and retrieving visitors’ coats, bags, and personal items while maintaining a tidy and organized coat check area.
· Respond to emergencies in accordance with safety and security training, ensuring visitor safety and reducing risks in the facility.
· Assist with various tasks and projects to enhance the overall success of Mulva Cultural Center.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, and abilities:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 2 years experience in a customer service focused position.
· Ability to interact with the public in a courteous, diplomatic, and professional manner.
· Familiarity with computer systems and point-of-sale systems.
· Ability to work independently and with a team.
· Strong time management, communication, and multitasking skills.
· Highly motivated, dependable, and possesses a strong work ethic.
· Demonstrates friendliness, professionalism, enthusiasm, and exceptional customer service.
· Committed to making safety a priority.
· Culturally competent and committed to working with diverse teams, with a strong alignment to the organization’s values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
· Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
· Ability to access and navigate every department throughout the Center.
