Job Description:
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support.
- Works directly with sales and engineering departments to create and supply customer quotes.
- Sell Metal and Plastic enclosures requiring technical expertise.
- Collaborate with customers, engineers, and sales team as needed to plan and modify product configurations to meet customer needs.
- Act as technical expert that can explain products or services to customers and prospective customers.
- Create sales or service contracts for products or services.
- Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.
- Provide technical and non-technical support and services to clients or other staff members regarding the use, operation, and maintenance of enclosures.
- Provide information needed for the development of custom-made enclosures.
- Work with the sales team to assist in new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner.
- Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions.
- Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures
- Accurately process customer transactions such as orders and quotes
- Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items
- Obtain accurate information from production and/or purchasing relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery
- Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
- Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, upselling, add-on sales
- Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite or notify management as needed
- Fill requests for catalogs, information or samples
- Remain current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes and product developments by attending sales meetings, training, or reading trade journals
- Setup and maintain customer files
- Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the distribution team
- Communicate to the purchasing department unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products
- Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
- Respond to all customer requests in a timely, courteous and professional manner
- Be the voice of the company to the customers, strive to become an excellent communicator.
Qualifications:
Previous customer service experience.
Must have an associate or bachelor's degree.
Prior experience within manufacturing.
