Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Indiana certification for a Physical Therapy Assistant.
Experience: Previous physical therapy experience required
Essential Function's and Responsibilities:
- .Participate with physical therapist in developing individual treatment programs.
- Evaluate each student’s strengths, weaknesses and ability to function.
- Administer a variety of exercises and treatments as prescribed.
- Evaluate student progress.
- Prepare records and reports of student’s response to treatment and attend case conferences as appropriate.
- Propose modification of specific treatment procedures.
- Confer with therapist and school staff to evaluate student information.
- Coordinate treatment schedule with therapists and school staff.
- Explain treatment techniques to students, parents and school staff.
- Perform student health and safety related tasks necessary for a particular student or students including, but not limited to, health care services related to students with diabetes, basic life support, therapeutic, and sanitary service, and taking other actions reasonably necessary to prevent harm or injury to a student as determined by the student’s Individual Health Plan (IHP), Individual Education Plan (IEP), or 504 Plan.
