Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience with various machining processes. As a Saw Operator, you will be responsible for operating saws and other machinery to cut materials to specified dimensions, ensuring quality and precision in every task.
Responsibilities
- Operate saws and related equipment to cut materials according to specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize basic math skills to calculate measurements and dimensions accurately.
- Assemble components as needed, ensuring proper fit and alignment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Assist in training new operators on equipment operation and safety procedures.
- Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles during production.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in machining or machine shops, particularly with saws or similar equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues effectively.
- Familiarity with lathe operations, electrical discharge machining, plasma cutting, and sheet metal work is preferred.
- Experience operating cranes is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow precise instructions.
- Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
